1 x vision, 3 x brands, 10 x sites, funding < £100k, impact > £1m = economic, social & community return. #togetherwearestronger!
The Wimbletech CIC project began in October 2013 to solve a really simple problem. I had funding for a mobile app startup, and was busy working to develop the business. I was (struggling) working from a combination of coffee shops across London + a small rented room in Wimbledon (aka “The Appcave”) – a local, affordable, & flexible solution was needed.
I needed to be surrounded by other like-minded people, with different skills and experiences. I needed, a place for my business to call ‘home’ – to burn the midnight oil, focus on his business, and drink huge amounts of coffee!
In desperate need of a solution, I took to the streets and after lots of searching I found the answer, in an under-used meeting room above additional ways to generate revenue, awareness and footfall, they could help us… we could help them, together we would be stronger!
We now work with Libraries, Councils & Community Builders, to help share our learnings & explore new, creative ways to cost-effectively transform under-utilised space & the local Community experience. The world is brighter, when we work and shine together!
