Today we heard from TheWorkary, Chelsea members, StudentStay that they have been nominated in the category of innovation of the year 2017 at the Student Accommodation conference & Awards by PropertyWeek! And, as we love to celebrate the successes in the network, we just had to tell you all about it! We asked Pim, Founder of Student Stay what the nomination was for…
Firstly, it was rather unexpected but I am glad that it hasn’t been just the “advanced technology” firms that dominate this nomination of “innovation of the year 2017”. I am of the opinion that technology supports but doesn’t necessarily create a long term sustainable business model, especially in “high value” customer commitments. As a business we anticipate this vision by combining old fashioned and traditional customer support with modern marketing and booking technology. At StudentStay the user experience is prioritised which means that we focus on information and education rather than just ordinary sales. I see a clear difference in business strategies and approach among competitors, most swear by innovation through Virtual Reality, apps and algorithms while our core focus is still simple humaninteraction using technology to support and enhance this.
The Student Accommodation conference & Awards by PropertyWeek is the largest student accommodation conference in the UK. For Pim and team it ‘has been a wonderful compliment’ that has confirmed their energy has been focussed in the right direction.
StudentStay will be competing with powerful, long established companies and educational institutions like University College London (UCL), University of Sheffield, Ask4 etc…..
Massive congratulations 🎉and fingers crossed to StudentStay from y(our) network at Wimbletech CIC! 💪🚀
