Hi there! I am Miguel Bello, current Events and Marketing intern for Wimbletech CIC and student of the University of Valencia on my final year of International Business.
I come from Valencia, a nice Mediterranean city on the coast of Spain. I started there my degree in International Business four years ago, but I have been studying in the University of Hertfordshire for the last two years. Being able to study in the United Kingdom has been an amazing opportunity, not only to learn English, but to develop as a person as well.
Just as I finished my dissertation, I started looking for an internship and I was lucky enough to be found by David, who hired me! Thanks to him I have been able to enjoy this opportunity, starting off with a two-week induction. During these two weeks, I was introduced to Small and Big Bytes, to the other interns and the rest of the team – all of them amazingly funny and nice people – and the way the company works. This way, I have come to understand the importance of the job we, at Wimbletech CIC, are doing for our communities.
After the induction, we were allocated to different sites –although we still meet every Wednesday! Mine and Laura’s are Rivertech and The Workary Welling. I am grateful for how well both communities have accepted us. Rivertech is a much mature site where people are more a family than co-workers. On the other hand, The Workary Welling is a growing new site full of funny and ingenious people.
All in all, this internship has provided me a chance to prove my worth; and although hard work is always needed, I have been able to really enjoy myself thanks to this amazing team. I cannot wait to see what is coming in the near future!
